Prefabricated house of the modern student or how to create comfortable living and study conditions on 10 square meters
Living in a small apartment with friends and sharing every inch of space, or closed dorm rooms with a million posters and flyers that never made sense; student life evokes special memories. Frugality is a constant companion for most of us during this period.
And Tengbom Architects’ designers, in tune with the needs and desires of the typical student, have designed smart student house interiors that use a meager 10 square meters of space to improve the quality of life.
The design from Tengbom is economically and ergonomically attractive for demographic purposes. The use of compact space and the use of every centimeter of the vertical room is designed in an intelligent way.
Each block consists of a cozy sleeping area, modern kitchen, bathroom and a small garden with patio . Add-ons such as an elegant hammock create extra space in the living room, while simple floating steps provide a free transition to the loft bedroom.
Nowadays on display at the Virserum Art Museum in Småland, Sweden, these comfortable designs showcased the modest minimalist look of a transverse laminated wood finish.
The lodge blocks have a stylish appeal. Environmentally friendly in appearance, the block’s authors aim to carve out carbon footprints in order to create a better synthesis between aesthetics and eco-consciousness. Just like the houses on 2013 Solar Decathlon, this building has a green design with modern looks. Tengbom plans to build 22 such units in 2014, which will be ready for student living.
