This dock house solved lack of space issues and realize your “walk on water” dream
It so happened that in the surrounding area, all the free territory was occupied by high-rise buildings, and there was nowhere to build a dwelling. The Steeltec37 design studio solved this problem in a peculiar way. They have developed a modular floating home that allows its owners to organize their lifestyle the way they want it, without limiting themselves to only the land.
The architects say that in such a cottage you will definitely experience an unusual feeling. The idea to design it was inspired by clean air, magnificent nature and tranquility emanating from the water. The house was designed as a sail, with a special curved roof that adds innovation to the architecture of the building’s façade. An unsinkable pontoon ensures the safety of the foundation and allows it to exist in the aquatic environment.
The mansion is located on the famous Luzhinskoye Lake in Germany. Steeltec37 experts claim that the home has a unique appearance and has all the amenities for a comfortable modern life.
On a floating structure, everyone can experience a superb sense of freedom combined with a sailor’s instinct. Everyone dreamed of existence in such conditions at least sometimes. The original house has a steel, rectangular shape, columns to keep itself afloat, a vaulted roof to give it the look of a sailboat, innovative air vapor barrier membranes and very high quality thermal insulation. As a result, a chic exterior design came out.
The windows of the cottage are from floor to ceiling, due to which they offer an unforgettable view of the lake. Thanks to the minimalist style in the interior, the villa fits perfectly into the landscape surrounding it. In addition, this prefab house has a very high performance façade that functions both outside and inside. At first glance, a building on the water may seem like a toy and cramped to you, as it looks exactly the same along the entire perimeter. And large and rectangular shutters externally give it the effect of weightlessness..
But the feeling is deceiving. Inside, the room looks quite neat and strongly resembles the standard design of the cabins of ships and boats. In order to visually expand the space, the designers used white for the walls and ceiling, and covered the floor with dark parquet. The rooms are filled with the minimum of necessary furniture. This is a TV and cozy little sofas that can be easily converted into full-fledged sleeping places if necessary. There are almost no bright decorative elements such as curtains in the interior, paintings, vases, figurines, etc. The reason for this was the desire not to overcrowd the already limited residential area and solve lack of space issues. Monophonic blinds act as curtains.
Such a cottage is provided with all types of communications necessary for normal functioning, which are laid from the shore: the most modern systems of water supply, electricity and sewerage. This once again confirms that the completed water project provides the necessary conditions for the full-fledged habitation of its owner.
