Incredible DIY barn hexagon can be a small home or storage area
Greetings to all homemade people and those who just dropped in to visit IncredibleTinyHome. Not one summer cottage or courtyard cannot be imagined without a barn. After all, this is the main place where household equipment, various materials and other items are stored that may be useful or simply lie “dead” until better times. Today I present to your attention a design of an unusual shape. The author of this project apparently got bored with banal quadrangular buildings and he made a hexagonal one. It looked very much like nothing happened.
First, the author cleared the site and outlined the boundaries of the foundation for the future barn with slats.
Then he mounted the hexagonal formwork and filled it with cement mortar. When the base hardened and gained the necessary strength, the author assembled the lower strapping from a bar on it. On top of which, in the future, plywood will be fixed.
Further, the author developed several blueprints for the “pie” of the walls and joints of the beams at the top.
According to the drawings, the author assembled five sections-walls consisting of a frame made of timber, a layer of vapor barrier and an outer clapboard. The author fixed the sections on the basis prepared earlier.
From a wooden block, the author made a hexagonal part, it is necessary to connect the rafters in the center of the roof. To do this, he first processed the workpiece on a band saw, then on a wood lathe.
At this stage of construction, the author mounted the roof frame, painted it, sewn it up with plywood, then with a layer of roofing material and after soft tiles.
Then the author designed the doorway and finished the walls from the inside with plywood. At the same time, he made window openings. Installed in the prepared opening on the door hinges.
At the final stage, the author finally designed his hexagonal building. I installed stained glass windows in the openings and painted the shed again.
That’s basically it. Who read to the end, thank you for your attention. If you like the idea, put the class and take notes. Good luck and see you next time at IncredibleTinyHouse.
